Our Guests Say The Nicest Things....

heart hands redo 3
The James Bond Cottage was an amazing experience for us. Cara was so welcoming and made us feel comfortable right from the start. The JBC is so cozy and warm. It really felt like home in so many ways. We can't say enough about the extra touches that just made it all so special. Our grandchildren loved visiting and renamed it "The Cozy Cottage!" We are planning our next visit and look forward to Cara and her warm smile and pleasant disposition. You can see that she puts her heart into caring for the JBC and it shows. We especially loved the little outdoor sitting area. Very private and inviting as well. The JBC is a hidden gem. A little bit of country feel right in Winston-Salem. It is also within walking distance to a great bakery, quaint downtown and park. A piece of heaven on earth. Great place to feel connected. We are so grateful to Cara for making our experience so beautiful.

Hidden Cottage Happiness! This cottage is perfectly appointed in every way. Every detail is so thoughtful and any need one may have while away from home has been anticipated and provided. It is spotlessly clean and surprisingly spacious. The cottage is warm and inviting, Cara is charming, and the location is fantastic. The cottage is minutes away from great cuisine, shopping, and many fun experiences, but at the same time, it is tucked away and feels secluded and private.

We really enjoyed our month long stay at the James Bond Cottage. It suited our needs perfectly. The location is so convenient. Cara & Dan are great hosts-even our dog became friends with them & Parker. We'll definitely return.

Best place we have ever stayed!

What a magical home. Even though you are minutes from most anywhere you'd need to go, the home is tucked back in the property with lots of privacy. My favorite thing to do was to open all the blinds in the living room area and watch the leaves on the trees blow. The home is decorated well. Not to feminine. Not to masculine. Very comfortable and cozy. We loved the James Bond theme. Let's talk about cleanliness.... We own a housekeeping business that includes cleaning vacation rentals. The first thing I'm going to notice is how clean the property is and all the little details it has to offer for incoming guests. If I could give the James Bond cottage 10 stars I would! Far exceeded my expectations!! Not only was there not a speck of dust anywhere but beds were made perfect and towels were nice and fluffy. I'm a cook and the kitchen was also stocked with everything I needed. Dan and Cara greeted us with warmth and kindness. They went above and beyond to answer any questions and helped us in any way we needed. We can't thank them enough for their generous hospitality. We will definitely be back, again and again.

What a pleasurable experience it has been! Cara greeted us warmly and proudly showed us around. There were flowers in the kitchen and the fireplace glowed in the corner. The accommodations were that of a 5-star hotel. Thick bath towels, comfortable beds, absolutely perfect! The eclectic decorating is wonderful. We look forward to our next stay here.

Beautiful little house, secluded yet convenient to downtown. Bedrooms and bathrooms are luxurious, and I felt as if I wanted to move right in. Highly recommended. I travel frequently, domestically and internationally, and this house was one of the nicest houses in which I have stayed.

Better than home!!! This cottage is lovely. Kitchen was complete with everything you need for a multi-day stay. Master bedroom was large with plenty of space in the closet for all of our clothes. Master bath has a great soaking tub and marble shower. 2nd bed/bath was just perfect for our son. There's lots of room to lounge around in the family room. We made this trip because our son was moving to Winston-Salem. Cara was incredibly helpful. She not only provided restaurant recommendations but did research on an apartment. We've already booked our return trip.

Amazing! The cottage was everything I hoped for. Beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and stocked with everything one needs. It made for a wonderful and comfortable gathering place for my college daughter and her friends to have a home cooked meal each night we were there. The cottage is conveniently located minutes from downtown, shopping, parks and UNCSA. And, if you are lucky, you might just get to meet Parker, the dog. I will be staying there, hopefully, every time I visit my daughter.

Great location & stunning cottage! Spent 3 days here while exploring Winston-Salem. Cara could not have been nicer. The cottage is charming and has everything you need for a stay away from home. Nice restaurant in short walking, and a great neighborhood to take a walk in. Don't hesitate on this place. You won't regret it!

For the past four months, I’ve called this place home. The basement has everything you can possibly need and way more. The twinkle lights in the bedroom will keep you company during those long studying nights and the most comfortable pillows you’ve ever slept on will reward you with the sweetest dreams right after. Every morning, a bunch of colorful llamas will be there staring at you from the picture they are in -funky cactus included too- beside the queen size bed. The big (fat) American washing machine is going to test your housewife skills, but there is no need to worry: if it ends up with water and soap all over your floor, Cara and Dan will be ready to fix the situation with dozens of towels and even more laughs. During sunny summer days there’s nothing better than chilling on one of the blue chairs in the patio, with a good book in your hands (and maybe a tasty avocado toast within reach) and the perfect southern folk playlist going on and on and on. Be sure to go for a walk around the neighborhood as soon as the leaves begin to fall and enjoy the stunning beauty of Nature in front of your eyes. If you are in the mood for a classy American brunch, there is no better place than Krankies where you will have the chance to enjoy eggs benedict on top of a homemade biscuit. Bacon is highly recommended by Dan, as well as an extra biscuit, but only on Sundays! Horseback riding in the woods is also a good idea if you wish to challenge your inner cowboy/cowgirl. Take photos, collect memories. Trust me, you will miss these days. There is just one more thing I want to suggest you, future guest: in order to live the most amazing, unexpected and unforgivable experience during your time in Winston, be sure to spend as much time as you can with Cara, Dan and Parker. They have been family to me, they have been friends. Words are not enough to say how thankful I am for have met them. Each day has been a little adventure with Cara and Parky by my side and it will be hard to forget Dan’s face while a big spoon of tiramisù was on its way to his mouth. We talked a lot, we shared even more. I never felt alone and I always felt loved. They were there, ready to help me in any time. People say home is where the heart is. Well, a piece of my heart will be always in Winston Salem with Cara, Dan and Parker.

This condo is well maintained and has everything you may need with even a few extras. It is just a 5 minute walk to the beach and close enough to walk for ice cream or a bite to eat. The neighborhood was quiet with 2 very close pools and always ample parking at the front door. Loved it!
